PHIL Award Winner
December 2011
Michael Castiglione, RCP, has the distinction of being the first
PHIL Award recipient at Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital.
Michael was nominated for the special connection he
establishes with his patients.

His understanding and kindness give his patients a sense of
calm that they say makes them comfortable and more relaxed.
He takes his time to explain and answer his patients questions
and to ensure that any anxiety they may be having is addressed.
His coworkers have recognized him on his impeccable
teamwork, in any situation they know that Michael can be counted
on to help.

Since coming to Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital in the
spring of 2009, Michael has been nominated by his peers as
Respiratory Therapist of the Year, for two years in a row. The PHIL
Award is now being used as their annual recognition award.
